[ Gradually scooting more into the lake until her chest is submerged, she sends Korra a thoughtful look in the meantime that she speaks. Sometimes, surprisingly, it's hard to read the Avatar. Usually Asami can tell if something is bothering her, but there are plenty of reasons nowadays to feel downtrodden. She could just be exhausted from the day.
Asami sits on her heels in the water, slowly rocking her knees so she's never quite in a kneeling or crouched position. ]
He had some stab wounds and there was some internal bleeding. [She flops back with a loud grunt of frustration.] He should've called me sooner! If he had died....
[...What would she have done? He had gone off to get parts for A-Ts. Which, while it was a good thing for her, he still got a bad whooping. And he was her friend. And once people are her friends, she hates seeing them hurt.]
[ After a considerate frown at Korra's concern, Asami pushes herself back a little deeper into the lake with a calm glance at the water. Light from the full moon is reflecting nicely from it, she notices. ]
Well, everything's okay now. I guess that's the important thing. [ An offering smile. ] Try and relax?
[She picks herself up with a sigh and walks a few yards from the shore, only to get a running start and propel herself into the air with some earthbending. The momentum sent her flying over Asami's head and zooming right over some deeper point in the lake. She tucks her legs up to her chest and holds tight as she makes a loud and proud announcement on her descent.]
WATERBENDING BOOOOOOOOOMB!!!
[A few seconds later, she hits the water and sinks like a rock. The impact sends water flying high into the air and large waves to roll out.]
[ Korra might have jumped a good distance out, but the waves rain on Asami and roll her about. And, well, there goes the makeup that hardly covered her bruise, not to mention two fine lines of black makeup that now streak her cheeks.
Asami strokes to where she thinks Korra landed and looks around. ]
[Her feet hit the bottom and she bends herself to rocket back to the surface. She pops up a couple feet from where she went in. As soon as her head's above the surface, she gulps down the fresh air and stretches her arms out.]
That felt great!
[She stretches out her arms and freezes the water underneath her to act as a float. Much better.]
