[ Dagger? Check. Goggles? Check. Enough wind to blow her hair for miles? Check, and Asami is waiting at the coordinates at a piece of Great Wall surrounding the safezone with her arms folded and lax. ]
[Firebending? Check. Earthbending? Check. Water in a bottle strapped to either leg? Check. Mornings? Still evil. Sort of set to go and still half-asleep, Korra arrives about twenty minutes after sunrise, dragging her feet to where Asami is. She raises a hand in a half-hearted wave.]
[ She isn't at all surprised to see Korra a little late, so there isn't a single hint of annoyance upon her approach. Instead, she straightens her posture as she digs in her pocket for her PCD, and she presents it to Korra with a picture on the screen. ]
I've heard of these things being used for rides around here. It's called a chocobo. What do you think?
[ It's no polar bear dog, but it's cute as hell. ]
[She rubs at her eyes and mumbles out some form of greeting that's indistinguishable. She squints at the picture on Asami's PCD and studies it closely.]
Huh. I guess it'll work. Should be faster than walking, anyway.
I think I'd have a better time with one I catch and tame from the wild. It forms a stronger bond between both sides.
[As she says it, she remembers Naga. Her faithful polar bear dog. She has to push out the image of her happy face, tongue lolling out, and wagging tail. Getting emotional would not get her a new companion, if only temporarily. Until Naga showed up.]
Let's go. [And of she goes in the direction indicated.]
[She spots the knife and points at it while raising an eyebrow.]
First, you put that away. Second, very carefully, but without showing any fear or hesitation. You need to show them who's in charge, otherwise training will be harder and will be full of yelling and "no" will become a word you use a lot. Third, be careful not to scare them. These chocobo things look like they have skinny legs. If it runs off in a blind panic and trips and breaks or sprains something, it'll probably be in big trouble.

[ She winks at her before climbing up on a lump of rubble wall. ]
We shouldn't have to go far.

[She manages a weak grin before climbing after Asami and perching herself on the wall.]
Oh wow... I've never seen the Wastes before.
[New alternate training ground get.]

[ She passes a smile at Korra as she climbs down, around, and up the remaining width of the destroyed crack in the wall. ]
I'm thinking the easiest place to look will be the plains. Hopefully they aren't too shy.

If they are, I'm sure there's some other creature out here we could catch. [She shrugs.]

[ Asami catches up with Korra without a struggle, but there's certainly more maneuvering. ]
We can explore a little bit more this way, though.

Not that they're hunting. So she can loosen the grip on her dagger, now. That does beg a pretty good question, though— ]
So... how do you capture something without actually hurting it?
[ It should be obvious, but Asami's just a city girl. ]
